Question: UMCycle Bike Kiosk is a full-service bike shop at the centre of the University of Manitoba, Fort Garry Campus. The bike shop is expanding to include a bike sharing program similar to that used by Red River College and others already used by other Canadian colleges and universities.
Bike Havens (pickup/drop off stations) will be positioned around the Fort Garry Campus and in popular areas within 10 kilometers of the University (e.g. grocery stores, parks, etc.)
As the Communications Coordinator for UMCycle, your job is to produce a one-page document with a short introduction on why bike sharing is valuable for students and instructing students on how to use the service. You can use Red River College's guidelines as a starting point, but note that that U of M's program will differ in a few important ways:
Students must first create a user account with their University of Manitoba email address.
The system operates on credits ($1 for 1 hour), which can only be purchased in $10 increments.
Credits loaded online are not active right away. A confirmation email will be sent to the student's email account within 48 hours to confirm when the fares you have loaded will be available for use.
Unused credits expire at the end of six months.
In addition to the differences mentioned above, you may add other information as you see appropriate.
