When Sandlot learned that it was not getting the contract, and that Beachfront had been awarded the contract instead, a Sandlot vice president began telling Beachfront officials that is should be careful doing business with Ocean, saying that it was well-known that the company does not pay its sub-contractors timely and that it exposes its sub-contractors to liability because it fails to maintain adequate insurance.
