I have an assignment where I must find a construct and argue why it is understudied or underutilized in the workplace. I picked a construct which is "goal orientation theory" and I wanted to study its relationship with feedback.

My professor responded to me saying: "It is not about a relationship between two constructs, such as goal orientation and feedback-seeking, but is instead about a single construct that has been under-utilized. So, you would need to pick one of the constructs that interest you and build an argument for why you believe it has been under-utilized or under-researched, and why it deserves more attention than it has received."
