Story: One night there was a girl who lived in Southern Maine. She was getting ready to go pick up her sister. She grabbed her keys from the counter and went on her way. As she walked down the brick road, she felt this awful pain in her stomach. It felt as if the clouds were darkening around her. Like the sky was going black but the sun was trying to shine through. She soon would find out what would happen next. Something in her head said to run. She was just a few feet away from her car when a man started following her fast. She picked up the pace. But so did he. She got into her car and locked the door and the guy yanked on the handle. She screamed. She didn't know why or what he wanted. She looked at him and yelled at him to stop and go away. Soon enough some random person showed up out of nowhere and pushed him away and both of them left. As she drove on to get her sister she rewatched in her head what happened. She proceeded to go into a driving coma. Thinking about what would have happened if the man grabbed her. Or if she walked a little slower. Who was the man who tried to open her door? Did she owe him something? Was it an accident? Or better yet, who was the woman who saved her? She kept going in and out of focus. She eventually arrived and picked up her sister. A few years later, she keeps her keys in her hand when she leaves. She now has a pink taser in her left hand and keys in the right. She walks tight to buildings and has a hard time trusting people who walk past her. Even in daylight. She will keep her hair down but behind her ears. She won't wear headphones and if she does it's only in one ear. She is worried when she pasts any man on the street. She thinks of the worst but continues on. She never told her sister about what happened because she didn't want her to feel bad. But one day her and her sister were leaving her car and walking back to the house. Soon she heard someone walking behind them. Her sister nudged her, soon they would meet someone they didn't think they would. The both felt a tap on their shoulders. It felt like a tap they knew. But it's cold. A tap that felt like someone they knew. When they turned around... no one was there. The older sister just looked at her younger sister. And straight goosebumps came to both of them. There was no one ever there. No one was around. Who tapped them? But the person who tapped them looked like the person who saved the sister before. She couldn't say anything to her other sister because she never shared what happened on that scary night. The sisters got into the car and put on the music. The song started to play that they listened too with their nana, who recently had passed away. They looked at each other and began to cry a little. Why did she have to go so soon? Why did God choose her? As they were chatting, they saw a flash of light. Almost like a shooting star but different. Pretty soon the sisters would realize it was their passed loved one who came by as a guardian angel to say hello and who saved the sister. The sisters will still get signs from the loved one who passed, their nana. They still today think of how she saved her from the scary man. She could still smell her nana every once in a while. Especially, when she was having a tough day... she could smell her perfume. To this day the sister has a hard time going out somewhere by herself. She still won't go to the car alone. And she still walks checking her shoulder. She will never be the same. But she always knows that there's a guardian angel protecting her constantly and she is never alone. So this fear she still carries... is much less than it used to be because she knows she's okay.
