Question: After graduating from college you are offered what you believe is your dream job. You are working in the field in which you earned your degree and get a fantastic salary. As part of the job offer, you have been asked to sign a non-compete agreement in which you agree to not work for any other competing company for five years after you leave this company (whether voluntarily or involuntarily). You happily sign the agreement and begin work. However, within the first year, you are miserable and begin to look for another job. If you find another position at a competing company, may this company prevent you from taking it under the non-compete agreement you signed?
