Question: This week we've read texts and watched videos about how and where managers get their power, influence, and authority from, and various ways they exercise it and for what purposes. You read less about the responsibility that comes with the power, although the Simon Sinek video begins to hint at this in his stories of the people in organizations who sacrifice for others.

Please think about the many ways that managers exert influence over employees. Give an example of how a manager in your own employment history has used power or authority positively to benefit you. Based on your reading for this week, what kind of power did the manager have in this instance? What was it about his or her power that impacted you?
