Assignment: Human resource
You just received notification that you have been selected by Nike as one of their top interns for this Summer: Congratulations! (Obviously you accepted.) (A test/treatment/vaccination has been successfully discovered/implemented for the coronavirus.) This employee has been with Nike for 6-months, she is their new superstar, she leaves for China on June 1, and begins her work assignment (in the Shanghai office) on June 8.

• Only speaks English
• Has recently graduated with her Ph.D. (in Global Leadership)
• Her husband and children (twin daughters: age 9 and one son: age 8) will accompany her for the full assignment (they do not have any international travel experience and only speak English)
• The husband (6'9") was a superstar college basketball player until he fractured both kneecaps during a game. He recovered from the injuries but his basketball career was ended.
• The children are all the same height currently: 5'9" (note their ages), incredibly athletic, and are currently all on the same travel basketball team coached by their father.
Requirements: • List and fully detail the critical information that must be included in the training process specifically for this employee (with full justification and documentation).
• What cultural values, norms, and behaviors must be included?
• What are the language, physical, office, living environment, transportation, etc., barriers that must be addressed to avoid failure for the employee and her family?
• Should a pre-departure training program be developed or should an in-China training program simply be used? Why? Are both necessary? Why?
• Should the family receive training (beyond the training provided to the employee)? Why? If so, what should be included and who should pay for this training?
• What training process should be used for repatriation?
