Question: For this series of essays, do some research on choreography as a concept. Get to know the intricacies behind how and why it's done - not just video choreography, but choreography on television and film as well. With that knowledge in mind, I want you to watch three different videos which use a choreographic performance as the video's main engine to sell the song that is being promoted in the video. Once you have watched three different choreographic music videos, I want you to critically analyze the whys, the hows, and the whats behind the meaning of each video's choreography and what the purpose of the choreography is in relation to the song, the song's meaning, and the artist. This will lead up to a longer assignment next week, so it's very important for you to know as much as possible about the concept of choreography. What I want here is for you to tell me not what they're doing, but what this choreography means for the overall video.
You can pick any video you like except Childish Gambino's This Is America. For each video, write one page, single-spaced, minimum. But this should be submitted as ONE DOCUMENT. In other words, compile all three analyses into one document. More than one file will not be accepted in Canvas so please make sure to do this correctly. Use MLA format to cite the video and any other sources you use to gather information for your analysis.
