3. Based on the materials, how do current events regarding trans rights and individuals a part of a movement for sexual identity? Is this part of the larger sexual identity or "gay rights" movement? Or is it something unique, thereby necessitating new and different strategies and efforts? What are the primary political, social, and economic barriers that prevent or make it more difficult for trans individuals and groups that seek greater protection for trans individuals to have full and equal legal rights and protections in the United States?

4. What methods have been used by gay-rights and sexual-identity advocates to obtain tangible legal protections against discrimination and for equality. Be sure to incorporate the Ben Jacobs article on same-sex marriage, as well and the U.S. Supreme Court ruling in the Harris case. How effective were (are) these methods? What were (are) the limitations to these methods?
