You are presently the Human Resource Manager at an organization in the BVI. As part of your job requirements, you are required to supervise performance appraisals for the staff. However, you are not satisfied with the way the process of performance appraisals has been conducted in the company.

You are required to make a presentation at a training seminar on performance appraisals that will lead towards change in the company; the presentation must include the following areas but not limited to these 2 topics only:

a) What is the rationale for a performance appraisal?
