A local free clinic nurse is doing a home visit for wound care an 81 year old Italian-American woman with strong Jewish faith. The nurse notices that the wound is badly infected, she has a temp of 103F and she is not as alert as on her previous visit a week ago. An ambulance is called and the patient is taken to the ER of the local hospital. The patient is afraid to go to the ER. She is worried that her son and daughter-in-law will be angry when they get home, that she is at the hospital. She has little energy and speaks poor English.
