What is the difference between a bit and a byte and how do they work. 8 bits make one byte which will make only one character. What happens if we have a word file then we want to put it in a usb that has a storage of 2 tb? Will it read each character as 8 bits which make 1 byte? These bytes contain everything that a computer needs to operate? Are they stored in chip?

Also, I have an example which says that the word hello is 4 bytes , but 123.4 is not. How does it work in a computer?

This is a question that came from my own self.
