Question: If the old tenant passed away and the landlord started the holdover for the new tenant for the illegal resident and per court the payment can be accepted as long as without prejudice. But, the rent roll still has the old tenant name with the outstanding balance in the account receivable report. What is the accounting treatment for this situation?
