What is the immediate treatment plan for this patient? Client Name: Jaime Meyers Client Demographics: Jaime is a 29-year-old female, who identifies as bisexual. Jaime reports that she lives with her parents, and they are below the poverty line. Jaime reports that she dropped out of high school at age 16 and has been using drugs and alcohol since. This is Jamie's third time in residential treatment; however, the Jamie's drug of choice has changed as the past two times the client was in treatment for alcohol and cocaine use only. Client Drug of Choice: Speedballs (polydrug mixture of cocaine with heroin). Client's Current Withdrawal Symptoms: Jaime presents with symptoms of anxiety, which is a common withdrawal symptom from opioids (Gipson et al., 2020). Jaime reports that these symptoms include heart racing, sweating, shaking, and an overall feeling of dread/wanting to run away. Jaime also presents with symptoms of depression, which is a common withdrawal symptom from stimulants (Helmus et al., 2001). The symptoms Jaime is experiencing include lack of energy and motivation, changes in appetite, and overall low mood. Physical Health Implications: Jaime is currently struggling with gastrointestinal symptoms, mainly nausea and vomiting, which are most likely a symptom.
