History dependency means that what has happened in the past shapes what is occurring today, this means that what an employee has experienced can make him/her more or less open to future changes. Our experiences shape our perceptions in every experience, if you have failed every accounting class you've ever taken then your desire to take another accounting class will not be very high.

What is good and bad about history dependency? What kind of effects can this thinking have on your department and organization? What can you as a manager do to counteract the negative side of this reflection?
