Question 1 - Respond the answer regarding the below statement with reference. (175 words)

Regarding this week's forum post on decision making, I can say that I've made a lot of bad decisions that have ended up going well, and a lot of, what I perceived to be, good decisions, that did not work out at all. Seeing as I am just learning the business decision process, I can not say that my decisions followed the processes we learned, however, I will try and map the decisions that I've made on to the processes.
For a bad decision, I would say during my 20's, the constant decision to be made was to either go out with my friends or not. The outcomes would often be either have a good time and spend money I shouldn't, or go out, have a mediocre to not good time, and spend money I shouldn't. A guaranteed consequence would be the hangover. Everytime I would go out, I know it was a negative to both my health and wallet, however, sometimes going out ended well, and resulted in humorous events that ended up being life long memories.

Good decisions that didn't have an optimal outcome could be demonstrated by my purchase of a my first condo. The three alternate choices were buy a place in Edmonton, where I lived, another other option was to buy in Vancouver where my parents lived, and finally do nothing. The definition of the problem was to purchase something and to later sell for a profit. However, other factors that came into play also included, in use value. I decided to buy in Edmonton as it was more affordable, and I would be living in the property with a room mate, thus cost of living and ownership would be very cheap. However, 3 years later and I was posted, and would not be able to sell the Condo with out taking a 30K loss. In the same timeframe, had I bought a condo in Vancouver, I would have almost doubled my purchase price. The Edmonton economy fell with the oil prices, and the Vancouver housing market was on a hot streak, that would last 6 years. At the time of the purchase, the economic trends that would arise for both cities were not really indicated or known. I definitely still kick my self for that purchase. Now I make sure to look at more economic trends before purchasing.

Question 2- please respond the answer regarding the below statement with reference. (175 words)

Decisions making tends to come down to well calculated thoughts in most cases, however in some its just an ill informed gut feeling. This gut feeling is what led me to my "good decision, gone bad". I have a very optimistic outlook on life, in some cases I have been told that my optimism is unrealistic at times. I have proven myself to be right more than wrong therefore I continue to live with the glass is half full mentality. Well back in 2002 I was sitting in my living room with an Air Force recruiter whom gave me a very good presentation about the service and what it could offer me. Being impressed, my parents and I signed the paperwork and I was off to the Military Entrance Processing Station or better known as MEPS shortly thereafter. Here is when I agreed to enter the Air Force with "Open General" meaning I did not have a guaranteed job and I will be given one at some point after I am sworn in and at basic training. Typically while at MEPS this is the time one could have a little bit of control over their future by selecting their career field and having some sort of idea of what type of work they will do for the next four years. Not to mention that in the case you do not like the jobs being offered, you could walk away since you are not "enlisted" yet. To use a non-military analogy, I was offered a job at Google, but did not ask where in the company will I work. I could work anywhere from IT to janitorial services....This was the case with me. My good decision was enlisting in the Air Force but the bad outcome was I was later giving the job as a cop. Don't get me wrong I love cops, it just not the job I felt was a good fit myself. Ironically my Bad Decision that turned good, is a continuation of this same story. While in Basic Training the fear of me actually becoming a cop is morphing into reality. I made a point to volunteer for any special duty that would resulted in a job change. I tried out twice to be in special forces, both times ended in failure. Finally while at an Air Force Honor Guard recruitment briefing I decided to volunteer despite not wanting to perform military funerals daily. Go figure I was selected and had the time of my life in this elite unit. After five years of this amazing opportunity, my time ended with me being able to select my next job in the Air Force which led to the Radiology field. The bad decision of me coming into the military without and job and told I will be a cop, led to me volunteering for job I did not want but fell in love with, all thanks to optimism.
