Kaizen

When used in the business sense and applied to the workplace, kaizen typically refers to activities that continually improve all functions of a business, from manufacturing to management and from the CEO to the assembly line workers. By improving standardized activities and processes, kaizen aims to eliminate waste.

A Kaizen Event is commonly referred to as a tool that:

• Gathers operators, managers, and owners of a process in one place

• Maps the existing process (using a deployment flowchart, in most cases)

• Improves on the existing process without increasing costs

• Solicits buy-in from all parties related to the process
