Topic: weight

My thoughts about unconscious biases is that it is a huge issue in today's society. People always judge people before getting to know them because of their skin color, the way they dress, or how they speak or look. Oftentimes I see people group themselves into where they feel like they belong because they do not feel accepted, can not relate to certain people, and are uncomfortable. This issue could have a big effect on many people in their personal and professional life. The experience of taking the weight test opened my eyes more about body shaming. People who are overweight or obese get mistreated and body shamed. Taking the test brought me back to when I was bullied for the way I looked because I was not skinny. My healthcare field is dentistry specializing in braces. This information would be useful in my field because getting braces and fixing your smile give people more confidence. Having confidence is good because you know you will be able to do anything you put your mind to. In society we all tend to break each other down instead of uplifting one another. Instead of body shaming someone, help them to lose weight because people go through bad mental health which leads to high risk of health problems.
