Hypothesize a quality improvement project assigned to you by the chief nursing officer (CNO). The CNO has selected you to be part of a quality improvement team. Quality improvement teams have been created to assist the CNO with the hospital's strategic plan. Hand hygiene infection control has been identified as needing improvement.

Your team should describe how you would assess the problem to understand the root cause. In addition, the team should present how this problem impacts the patient, nursing staff, and/or organization. Use the following questions as a guide:

Describe the intervention and how you would implement it. For example, if the intervention is teaching, how, when, and where will the teaching occur, and how many staff will be involved?
