What can health-care providers, insurers, and the government do to meet this challenge? This can be addressed in a myriad of ways. Firstly, there needs to be an expansion of access to affordable health care. There needs to be an expansion and implementation of programs that seek to provide affordable or at the very least, subsidized healthcare services for those low income elderly individuals. Healthcare providers could offer discounted services for those who may need the help. Another thing that could be done would be the improvement of health literacy which would be the role of the government. If people understood preventative measures as well as the importance of regular check ups and treatment plans, it could make a world of difference. Yet another thing that could be helpful is the wide spread institution of telehealth services. Telehealth services were really helpful during COVID and as such would certainly prove helpful to those that may live far away from where they would go to seek medical treatment. It would take the hassle out of trying to seek transportation to get there, it saves on time as well. It is essential for there to be a collaborative effort among health care.
