Designing a model Assume that you have been asked by the city council to build an agent-based model of transportation patterns in the city. In particular they are interested in seeing where they should spend money with the goal of minimizing the time it takes for the average inhabitant to get to work. Design two models that would help them answer this question. In the first model, concentrate on the scale of a single neighborhood or political ward in the city. In the second model, concentrate on the level of the whole city. What are the agents in your model? Are they different in the two different scenarios? What data would you need if you were to actually build these models? How would you simulate the different policy choices, namely, the allocation of funds to minimize commuter time? What measures would you collect to answer the council ' s question?
