It has been suggested that carbon dioxide can be recovered from flue by using a membrane process. The flue gas has the following composition: nitrogen 73.9 mol%, oxygen 3.1 mol%, carbon dioxide 7.7 mol%, water vapor 15.3 mol%. Using the data in Table 16.1, determine the best membrane material for this process. What are the advantages and disadvantages of the proposed membrane process?
