Medical/Surgical history: Diagnosed with Marfan syndrome (at 15 years old). Follows through on yearly checkup for Marfan complications. Slight mitral valve prolapse detected 2 years ago.

Social history: Occasional marijuana use (2-3 times per month). 1 ppd cigarette smoker. Smoking since age 18 years. Social drinker (3-4 drinks) on weekends. Completing senior year of college.

Family history: Father (deceased) is thought to have had Marfan syndrome. Father died at age of 52 years of a myocardial infarction. Mother suffers from ulcerative colitis (diagnosed at age 42) and osteoarthritis in knees and hips. Two younger siblings, both in good health.

Physical Assessment: Tall, thin male appears with some respiratory distress. Complains of chest pain that was sudden in onset. No injury to the chest area. Pain is worse with deep breath.

Medications: None
