Assignment:

David is a 19 year old Indigenous Participant who is an early school leaver, currently receiving youth allowance and has recently been referred to TURSA. Since leaving school David has been in and out of juvenile detention centres. He has previously worked casually as a builder's labourer between the city and his community in Toowoomba and hasn't been able to keep a job longer than 4 months due to his constant moving. He has been applying for similar roles but isn't getting much luck due to his poor references and no licence. He has expressed an interest in working for Indigenous services and is really interested in working outdoors. He would consider a traineeship or apprenticeship

a) What methods did you use to establish rapport/trust with the participant?
