Calvin and Dr. Hobbes are running a group therapy session for clients with BPD. A client named Eddie mentions severe suicidality in the past, and stated that he has attempted to kill himself a one occasion. Eddie then mentions that his suicidal thoughts were quite intense, and he attempted by taking pills, alongside cutting. Eddie then mentioned that he was stopped and taken to the hospital by his mom. Dr. Hobbes proceeds to do a suicide risk assessment with Eddie, saying the following: "Eddie, I can imagine how scary that experience was for you. The idea of committing suicide is something people do not take lightly and it sounds like you put a lot of thought into it. That must have been a difficult time for you and it is nice to hear that your mom was available and took you to safety. Dr. Hobbes then proceeds to write that Eddie's suicide risk is minimal based on this brief commentary.

a. What are the concerns with Dr. Hobbes' suicide risk assessment?

b. The next session, Dr. Calvin asks YOU (presuming you're a trained therapist) for a proper suicide risk assessment, please describe, as if you were speaking to Eddie directly, how you would go about this assessment? Presume Eddie is actively suicidal with a risk beyond "minimal". How would you proceed assessment-wise? Don't just list things, explain your logic.
