Yet, they have been plagued by multiple environmental problems for years, and the work that has been done to address them could possibly be undone by the emergence of new threats such as new invasive species, pollutants such as PFAS and microplastics and climate change. Is it too late to comprehensively address these issues and return the Great Lakes to the pristine water quality they once had, or is it too late for this?
