Steven is your 10 year old son. He was getting off his school bus, and as soon as the bus pulls away, he sees a huge dog about 3 times his size. Steven has an extreme fear of dogs. He can feel his heart racing, his mouth getting dry. His sympathetic nervous has activated his fight or flight. Steven tries to run from the dog, but he trips over his book bag, falls and breaks his arm. You get the phone call at work that tells you to get to the hospital as quick as possible there has been an accident at home and your child is in the ER. Your heart is racing, your mouth gets dry, and your fight or flight has been activated. Once you get to the ER the doctor assures you that Steven will be okay with therapy and little TLC. You are stressed because you do not like to see your family in pain and the ER visit left you with a hefty bill.
