Question

Water molecule A enters one of the leaf cells, followed by another crossing into an organelle with many green membranes. As A moves closer to these membranes, he suddenly finds a strong pull on his body, it is so strong that A loses an electron an both hydrogen ions and is joined by a new companion.He looks in the mirror and a new molecule is staring back at him.They feel very light and float off, through several membranes and out into the open air.

What happened to water molecule A to cause this change and why did this happen?
