Brief Summary of Suggested Progress of Scenario
Mrs. Adhira Singh, age 83, is a retired midwife who currently lives at home with her son. Mrs. Singh has a history of osteoporosis and borderline hypertension, stage 1. She fractured her right arm 5 months ago and underwent surgery at that time to repair the fracture.
She has arrived at the Chicago Ambulatory Care Clinic complaining of left buttock discomfort with some bloody spotting on bed sheets and underwear for about a week now. She has been unable to visualize the area. She is complaining of feeling very fatigued and somewhat warmer than usual.
Additionally, her family is concerned about her limited mobility due to her fear of falling again after her most recent fall. She spends most of the day in a chair by her bed.
Learners are expected to take vital signs, perform a full wound assessment, irrigate wound, prepare lab supplies, obtain wound culture and give report using SBAR to the attending physician.
