Marina works in a pediatric centre. She is the primary nurse for four-year-old Michael, who has been a client on her unit for the past several months. Michael's parents hear Marina say that it is her birthday. When she returns from her break she finds a gift with her name on it from Michael's family.

If Marina accepts this gift, is she at risk for crossing the boundary of her therapeutic nurse-client relationship?
