Another social worker on the unit was recently widowed, and her friendship with John-her supervisor-has evolved into a romance. The hospital administrator believes it is risky for a manager to have a personal relationship with a supervisee. John argues that they have maintained the same level of professionalism that has existed for the years that they have worked together, and that their personal and professional lives are kept separate.
