Change management has gained critical importance in HR profession. John Austin states that according to SHRM survey (2007), most common changes in the workplace involve human resource information systems and IT systems. Technology has become a necessary component of HR paradigm. HR processes are being transformed from traditional/manual to online and the HR professionals are taking advantage of the technology tools e.g. e-HRM, HRIS, ERPs etc. HR professionals are required to stay one step ahead from others by driving their organizations towards maximizing their revenues. Each student is required to choose an industry and answer the following questions.

1. Identify the way technological changes occurring in your selected industry are affecting organizations' HR practices.

2. Explore HR applications (HR Apps) used by Canadian companies in your selected industry and analyze their advantages for the workforce/employees.

3. Identify the recruitment and retention challenges in Canadian companies and analyze that how these challenges can be addressed by the HR professionals using IT and other specialty software/applications?
