Current Patient Education Material Assessment For this task, you will perform an assessment of the current patient educational material that is provided for the targeted patient population using the Patient Education Materials Assessment Tool (PEMAT) from the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality (AHRQ). PEMAT is a systematic method to evaluate and compare the understandability and actionability of patient education materials. It is designed as a guide to help determine whether patients will be able to understand and act on information. Locate your clinical site's current patient education material for your patient population. Navigate to AHRQ's PEMAT and User's Guide. Download the PEMAT Auto Scoring Form located under the Alternate Formats heading (in the sidebar). Using the PEMAT Auto Scoring Form, evaluate the patient education material by following the instructions contained in the tool. Note: There are 2 different forms, one for print materials and one for audiovisual materials. Write a summary of the state of the current patient education material explaining the most explicit deficiencies.
