The drive to incorporate sustainability into every corporation's operations is a growing trend in the global economy. In fact, it can be said that for sustainability to become an integral part of a company's business strategy, that company needs to determine how sustainability impacts and is impacted by the company's culture, mission, core values and business model. To help examine the sustainability process through a management perspective, answer the following questions:
From a management perspective, is it feasible to incorporate projects for sustainability into the annual budget process?
If so, how would a leader responsible for the sustainability process, defend the corporate predisposition that "the project" will increase operating costs and hurt the "bottom line"?
Would greatly appreciate help in asnwering both sustainability questions. I think that sustainability should be constant part of budget process but I am not so sure that it is feasible to incorporate projects for sustainability into an annual budget process or that the sustainability process for project will increase operating costs and hurt a company's "bottom line".
