In my future clinical practice of ortho, I would demonstrate a survival analysis based on hip or knee replacements. I feel this is a great example of survival analysis in understanding events such as implant failure or revision of orthopedic surgeries. Evidence-based practice has suggested that orthopedic implants can last for several years. However, the expected survival analysis of my research time frame can cover between 10 to 20 years. This anticipated time frame allows for in-depth observation based on long-term performance and factors associated with implant survival. In addition, by assessing risk factors, health care members can make thorough informed decisions about orthopedic implants.
