Advertisers use research studies all the time to convince consumers that a certain product may be good or bad for them. We see it all the time, but may no realize the we are relying on research studies. For example, you may have seen an advertisement or an articles that discuss the health benefits of drinking coffee.
Rarely do we think that perhaps the article was published by a coffee company to promote the purchase of coffee. You may have also seen advertisements and/or articles that discuss the negative health effects of drinking coffee. Perhaps that advertisement or article was produce by a tea company to get people to drink tea instead of coffee. Have you ever wondered where the information for the advertisements or articles comes from? They come from research studies.
For your Week 9 discussion board you are to choose a product (any product), find an article that discuss the benefits of the product and an article that discuss the negative effects of the product. Your submission should include:
1st paragraph - Discuss the product. Coffee is a drink that is made from roasted beans. It is often consumed in the morning with/without milk. You could add an interesting fact about you product in this paragraph. The product does not have to be food.
2nd paragraph - Summarize the article that discuss the positive aspects.
3rd paragraph -Summarize the negative effects of you articles.
