Aligning a company's human resources and business strategies is critical when seeking to increase competitive advantage. Some reasons that a business may seek to align or realign their business and HR strategies could include organizational restructuring, employee hiring and retention goals, social responsibility initiatives, and crisis management. The textbook broadly categorizes human resource strategies under internal and external cost and differentiation labor orientations and notes that these can differ based on a company's strategic direction. Examples include free agents, loyal soldiers, bargain laborers, and committed experts. In this assignment, you will research examples of best practices and frameworks to align HR and business strategies with the goal of increasing competitive advantage and/or diversity.
