Question 

During the clinical day, you accompany a student to perform their first intravenous insertion. The patient is nervous and states they do not like needles. As the student is retracting the skin and preparing to insert the catheter, they touch the skin with the tip of the needle and then move it slightly and prepare to insert the catheter again. How do you respond? How would you act if this happened during a skills lab? A high-fidelity simulation? Would you respond differently or the same? Explain.
