Statistical data is used within the organization I work at in many ways. We monitor wait times. Door to room time for strokes/STEMIs. Length of stay for a patient. Elopements/LWOT patients. There is a lot of statistical data that is collected daily. How this information is used is to improve outcomes. This information is collected and shared so we can make improvements. Our managers, CNOs, CEOs and all the administration staff change our protocols based on this data that is collected. In the ED right now, there are prolonged wait times. Every day we try to make changes to accommodate the increased amount of people and accommodate covid versus non-covid patients. As healthcare staff we adapt to the many changes required by our facility practice.
