Mr. Jacobs is a 66 year old African American male who presents with complains of fatigue, shortness of breath with worsening with walking or activity and "just feeling bad". He has not been to a primary care provider in "about 10 years" States that he went to ER "about a month ago" and was diagnosed with HTN and kidney disease. States he was started on medications to decrease fluid retention and treat his HTN and referred to your office for follow up. Denies significant illness prior to recent diagnosis. Denies chest pain, coughing, dizziness, or vomiting.
current medication: furosemide 10mg po daily
v/s BP 168/94 HR 116 RR 20 T 98.9 HT 6'2", Wt 325lbs

4. One of his blood test came back serum iron -low, serum ferritin -low, TIBC -low, Reticulocyte count-Low, RDW-normal VtB12 and folate-Normal what do you think he has? and how would you treat his condition?
