Question

The healthcare professional that I collaborated with is a Nurse Practitioner. We both felt that the community needed intervention when it came to teen births. Petersburg has 65 teen births per 1,000 females ages 15-19 compared to the state average of 15 per 1,000 (University of Wisconsin Population Health Institute, 2023). Our plan to help decrease the number of teen births is to initiate a mobile health clinic that specializes in sexual and reproductive health for teenagers. These clinics could be set up at or near the public high school in order to increase access for teenagers, and school-based health centers have shown positive health outcomes for students (Gilliam et al., 2018).
