Biological inheritance plays a crucial role in the diagnosis of Alpha-1, and improvements can be made to address any gaps in the diagnostic process. This situation presents a valuable opportunity for the medical community to contribute to a more effective and comprehensive diagnostic approach. The literature review section of this paper will explore the barriers currently hindering progress while also suggesting areas for improvement in testing, augmentation therapy, early indicators of COPD, and the relationship between smoking and Alpha-1 Antitrypsin deficiency.
