Urgency is defined as "the propensity to act rashly when distressed" (p. 10). The DSM-IV-TR's usage of personality disorders highlights how the FFM personality structure, where "personality disorders can be understood as maladaptive variants of FFM personality structure", can be used as a diagnostic continuum (John et al., 2010, p. 751). Therefore, how does urgency relate to the FFM? Could the new FFM continuum criteria show a diagnosis of disordered eating?
