It can be used in combination with other anti-anginal agents to improve exercise tolerance and reduce angina frequency. Ranolazine Pharmacodynamics (MOA) Ranolazine works by inhibiting the late phase of the inward sodium current (late INa) in cardiac cells. This action reduces intracellular sodium levels, which in turn affects the sodium-dependent calcium channels. By decreasing calcium overload, Ranolazine helps improve myocardial relaxation and reduces myocardial oxygen consumption, thereby alleviating angina symptoms.
