A quality improvement design will be used to determine if or to what degree the recommendation to adopt an evidenced-based AACE/ACE Obesity Clinical Practice Guideline protocol in patients with a BMI of 25 or more and a waist circumference (W.C.) of 31 or more will be accepted at a family medicine practice in suburban Pennsylvania. The family practice group in Pennsylvania will be given a detailed oral and written proposal outlining the purpose, background, problem, setting, and AACE/ACE guidelines. After a designated time to review the written proposal, the DNP candidate will provide a PowerPoint presentation outlining the need to adopt an AACE/ACE protocol to current practices to provide an evidence-based guideline intervention to reduce patients' BMI and waist circumference at any age.
