Beginning from a public building, such as your school or local library, your challenge is to pick another destination in your city, town, or village-such as a recreational, commercial, or entertainment facility-and plan a route to it by car, by public transportation, and by bike. The destination should be far enough away that taking a car, bus, or bike to get there are plausible. Use Google Maps, bus or subway schedules, and your town's cycling map. Here is one for Toronto, Ottawa, and Kingston. Compare the routes, the experience, the cost and the benefits of each mode of transportation.
Your submission should include the following:
A map of your intended routes from a public building such as a school or library, to another destination in your area.
Describe the pros and cons of each transportation experience-time, cost, scenery, physical exercise, security, environmental costs or benefits, social costs or benefits, civic costs or benefits.
Reflect on the transportation options available to you. In which situations might you decide the best option is to travel:
