The focus of public health has always been to promote and protect the health of people and the communities where they live, learn, work, and play. Within this environment, the social determinants of health are evidence of the conditions in which people are born, live, learn, work, play, worship, and age that affects a wide range of health, functioning, and quality-of-life outcomes and risks (CDC, n.d.). During this course we have discussed several initiatives that have been implemented to improve specific SDOH, however, in view of the present pandemic, this discussion will focus on SDOH and health disparity.

Choose one of the social determinants of health (SDOH) that influences the health disparities; explain why you feel this determinant impacts the health of the person and the community. Note that supporting evidence must be provided. In collecting your supporting evidence, please note the nurses' role in developing strategies to improve the health of the person/community during this pandemic and in the future.
