SCENARIO
You have been working as Griselda Markson's executive assistant at Ingenious Financial, a mid-sized financial services company. You both are troubleshooting issues relating to internal communications in light of the company's high printing costs.
Currently, paper and printing supplies have exceeded $6000 in the first half of the year. Add shredding and waste disposal costs, and the costs topped $7500. To promote a more environmentally conscious culture, and to reduce costs and lag time in communication, Griselda wants you to inform all employees of the digital-first initiative, which consists of opting for digital forms of documentation and communication instead of printing documents.
In a digital-first environment, memos and meeting agendas are sent as emails, digital templates are used for minutes, invoices, letters, incident reports. Meeting collateral (meeting notes, handouts, and presentation copies) are shared with attendees via email, and longer documents are shared using PDFs. All forms and surveys must also be created using digital tools like Google Forms and shared using email or chat.
