ICD 10 and CPT CODES: Procedure: Prostate Biopsy Indication: elevated PSA The patient was brought to the procedure room, and appropriate informed consent was obtained after discussing the risks, benefits, and alternatives of the procedure. The patient was placed in the left lateral decubitus position. The perineal area was cleansed and prepped with an antiseptic solution in a sterile fashion. Local anesthesia was administered at the perineum and surrounding area. After achieving adequate local anesthesia, the biopsy probe was inserted via the perineum into the prostate gland. The biopsy was obtained using a Trucut biopsy gun with 3 cores taken from the lateral gland region. Hemostasis was achieved, and no complications were noted during the procedure. The biopsy site was inspected, and a sterile dressing was applied. The patient tolerated the procedure well without immediate complications.
