Elijah is a 6 month old who presented to the emergency department by ambulance in the morning. His mother, Cynthia, called an ambulance because during breastfeeding, he pulled off the breast, started to cry inconsolably, then "turned blue, floppy and unresponsive". The blue spell lasted for approximate 2 minutes and had resolved before the ambulance arrived. Cynthia described that he has looked a "little blue" previously with crying or feeding, but never for longer than a few seconds. She was concerned that he might have choked during the feed. Feeding has been challenging, he seems to struggle to breathe and comes off the breast regularly, and Cynthia notes feeding has always seemed much harder for Elijah compared to his older brother. He has not been gaining weight as expected and currently weighs 7.0kgs. He has otherwise been healthy, born at term, with no complications.
